That Summer Glow- Face and Body Products For Bronze Goddess Skin

“Summer has a flavour like no other. Always fresh and simmered in sunshine.”

Today I want to share some products that I use to create a golden sun-kissed glow. I embrace my pale skin in the colder months but I do love warming up my skin in summertime and as someone who doesn’t like to lay out in the sun, these products are a perfect substitute. These are products for both face and body so , lets jumps right in.

Face and Body

The idea is to create a natural tan without damaging skin. For a gradual tan I use the Jergens Natural Glow Body Mosturizer. It has a nice scent, unlike many fake-tan products I’ve used in the past and with 2-3 uses, leaves my skin with a gentle bronze.

To protect my face and neck I use the Australian Gold Mineral Tinted SPF in the Medium-to -Tan Shade. I discovered this SPF last year and was immediately hooked. It’s water resistant, leaves a natural tint to the skin and works really well under makeup. Mineral SPF’s protect skin on contact (unlike chemical spf’s that need 15-20 to start working) so this is a go-to when I need to get my SPF and makeup on quickly.

For my body, I’ve been loving the Coppertone Glow Brillant. This one comes in SPF 15, 30 and 50 and what I love about it for summer is that it has a soft gold shimmer to it so it brings out your tan and gives arms and legs an extra glow.

I love the St. Tropez Glow Boosting Vit. C Serum for my face and neck. After I do my skin care in the evening, I apply about 4 pumps of this Serum to my face and neck and in the morning I have a lovely natural glow. I’ve been using this products for a few years and it goes on streak-free (very important) and never orange.

The Patrick Ta All Over Glow Balm in the shade She’s On Vacation is an interesting product. Swipe over decolletage, shoulders, down arms and legs for a glossy bronzy shine that makes your skin look younger (if that makes any sense). It’s very lightly pigmented and gives skin a fresh plump look. It smells so good. I use this product with a large brush and apply it moving in circular movements over skin.. this one’s for when you want to look “extra”.

Makeup

The L’oreal Lumi Glotion has lived in my makeup collection (in the light and medium shades) since it was launched in 2018. You can use it under foundation as an illuminating primer or on the high points of the face as highlighter. I use it year-round for healthy dewy looking skin.

Guerlain Terracota Highlighter Stick is a golden highlighter, best used on bronze skin. Dabbed on the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow for that J.Lo-esque glowing skin.

Rodial has just launched the newly formulated and packaged Bronze Glowlighter. I still have the old one. A light serum-like formula, I use it as a contour in the hollows of the cheeks and around the hair line and jawline. To warm the skin up, the new Makeup by Mario Soft Sculpt Skin Perfector is a bronzer/highlight in one. I hit the areas of my face that the sun would naturally tan then use the Tarte Park Avenue Princess Waterproof Body Bronzer on my chest and shoulders when I’m wearing an open-neck top and want an instant tan.

Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipsticks in Brazilian Tan and Blushed have been my favourite shades for Summer. Paired with bronzed skin, Brazilian Tan is a beautiful shimmering neutral that looks like my natural lip shade, just better. I use Blushed when when I want a hint of pink with a bit of shimmer. Both compliment tanned skin perfectly.

Mac Mineralized Blush in Warm Soul is a soft neutral shade, not too peach, not too pink, not even too brown.. just a wash of colour to warm the cheeks leaving a healthy flush.

The new Anastasia Beverly Hills Nuveau Palette is #SummerGoals; an earthy palette of greens, shades of siena and that pop of lilac for a one in done wash of pastel over bronzed eyes. This is going to be my palette for the season. Just get it.

Fragrance

The Sol de Janeiro original fragrance (Sol Cheirosa ’62) is Summer in a bottle. Gourmand notes of Salted Caramel, Pistachio, Vanilla. I use this out of the shower on warm skin and spritz it in my hair. This scent is the cherry on top of a glowing tan and the perfect beachy hair and makeup.
