Kitchen Witchery: Emergency Homemade Antibiotic

“Herbal medicine’s been around for thousands of years!” Indeed it has, and then we tested it all, and the stuff that worked became ‘medicine’.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. Never treat any illness or infection at home unless you are ok with taking 100% responsibility for the outcome. What I am sharing here is a natural remedy that can be used as emergency first aid for low grade infection or the oncoming of symptoms as well as in the case of not being in close proximity to available medical attention. Otherwise seek help from a trained professional, especially if you are experiencing a high fever.

Hello my fellow Kitchen Witches. As part of my practice in The Craft I like to keep a good supply of ingredients in my pantry. Ingredients both for cooking as well as treating small accidents around the home and illnesses. Things like Apple Cider Vinegar, Fresh Organic Lemons, Fermented Garlic, an array of Essential Oils (I am a Certified Aromatherapist) and culinary/medicinal Herbs.
Today I wanted to share a simple remedy that you can make that can help if you have developed an infection. Again, this is not a substitute for medication, however, not all infections need a full round of Antibiotics either. Viral infections, a sore throat, urinary tract infections can many times be dealt with with the help of Mother Nature.

You Will Need:

• A Blender

• 16 oz mason jar with a good lid

The Base Remedy:

• 4 garlic cloves

• 1 whole organic lemon

• 2 cups of Apple Cider Vinegar

• 1 cup of filtered water

• 1 oz Extra Virgin Olive Oil

How to Make the Base Remedy:

1. Add all of the above ingredients into a blender

2. Add the “additional” ingredients (below) into the blender

3. Blend the ingredients for about 1 minute

4. Transfer the mixture to a mason jar and keep in the refrigerator

Additional Ingredients You Can Add Before Blending:

You can choose a few of these to add to the base remedy.

• 2 Tbsp turmeric powder

• 1 tsp sage powder

• 1 tsp thyme powder

• 1 tsp rosemary powder

• 6 cloves

• 1 radish

• 1/2 small onion

Take 1-2 shots as soon as you feel the onset of symptoms for a total of 4-6 shots of this remedy throughout the day until you’ve completed the entire jar.
