Get Ready With Me: Using Only Drugstore Makeup Under $20

Tonight was date night. Dinner and drinks out at Ophelia Mexican Kitchen… and an opportunity to try a new makeup look. I’ve been enjoying trying drugstore dupes for high-end makeup products and by trying I mean pulling out oldies but goodies from my collection. All of these products are still available in stores. You’ll find them at any London Drugs or Shoppers Drugmart.

All the makeup mentioned below ring in under $20, some (like the ELF wow brow) as low as $5. I did a green eye look with peachy pink cheeks, golden bronzed contour and high shine nude lips. This is what I used:

Revlon Skin Lights in Sun Kissed. This bronzer is gorgeous! it gives you a subtle luminous, sun kissed glow without glitter. I love it so much I have another as a backup in storage.

Milani Highlighter in Rosa Italiana. I like that this highlighter gives the face definition without being beaming gold like so many highlighters. I use this one more than any other in my collection.

Garnier Skinactive BB Cream. After trying this BB Cream, I’ve had a hard time going back to any foundation. Medium to light coverage that looks like your skin just perfected and never creases. I’m using this for the rest of my life.

L’Oreal Lipstick in Glossy Fawn and Milani Lipgloss in Champagne. Super shiny plump lips. Love!

ELF Hydrating Camo Concealer. Gives any of the high-end concealers I own a run for their money. Perfect for mature skin. As the name says, it is very hydrating and creamy, blends in seamlessly and doesn’t dry down or settle into fine lines.

Revlon Blush in Naughty Nude. In the pan this blush looks kind of boring. On the skin, it looks like a very natural looking flush, not too pink or glittery. Wonderful for a no-makeup-makeup-look.

L’Oreal Unlimited Mascara. I was loyal to Benefit Bad Girl Bang Mascara until I tried this one. The brush comes to a tip and lets you get into the root of lashes and curl them upward for lashes you can see from space. My trick is to curl my lashes once my mascara dries. People ask if I’m wearing false lashes. Nope!

Morphe 9 shade Palette. I used the two green shades in the left top corner. Green shadow on brown eyes is so pretty and unexpected.

Marcelle green eyeliner. This pencil glides on beautifully and is waterproof so it doesn’t budge yet is easy to remove with any Micellar water.

ELF Wow Brow. An Eyebrow gel that gives you just a hint of colour and sets brows in place all day. A great dupe to the Glossier Boy Brow. $5, Sold!

That’s all folks!

Love,

Jennifer
