“If a year was tucked inside of a clock, then autumn would be the magic hour.”
With sweater weather just around the corner I wanted to share a few simple ways I’ve updated my wardrobe for the coming season.
I received a 20% discount code from H&M recently and used it to purchase a few new items to add to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Each piece is simple and easy to pair with clothing already in my closet. Nothing is over $40.
I’ve always loved nautical stripes and this chunky sweater is soft and comfortable. With dark wash skinny jeans and my L.L. Bean Duck Boots, I’ll be ready for a day of sailing off the shores of Bar Harbour Maine. A girl can dream.
A ribbed mock-neck in an oatmeal colour will pair well with my midi denim skirt and gold jewelry for a casual but put together look . This light weight wine coloured turtleneck is another option $29
A neutral Henley and rust coloured v-neck are great basics for pants and jeans.
Henley $23. Rust V-neck Sweater $12
The H&M Conscious line introduced the “push up” Jegging for this season. Cut in a way to lift the bottom, these jeans hug the body in the right places, have good stretch and keep their shape. They come in 3 shades. I got a “dark wash” and the “denim blue” pairs in size 4 and they fit like a glove $38
For a weekend on a lakeside cabin, I’ll wear this sweater with my fuzzy warm moccasins. Cat not included.
I couldn’t resist the colour of this angora sweater. I’ll match the crunchy leaves on the forest floor while taking a walk in the woods on a crisp Sunday afternoon. Angora Sweater $33. Ribbed striped turtleneck underneath $12.
I bought this sage green oversized turtleneck specifically thinking of pairing it with this dark green pleated skirt. The skirt I picked up in Barcelona last year. The sweater $25
Unique accessories elevate a simple outfit. My grandfather sent me this brooch bought at the antique markets in Montevideo Uruguay.
A simple white tee is a must-have basic. I’m terrible at keeping my white clothing white so I never invest in an expensive white tee. I just buy a new one every year! I bought this one oversized to wear tucked in or knotted in the front. T-shirt $10
Styling designer brands with affordable pieces makes an entire outfit look more expensive. I’ll wear my Gucci belt and Michael Kors ballet flats with my H&M jeans, sweater and this houndstooth jacket I found at a vintage shop.
These boots from Revolve match this sweater so well. I’ll style the sweater over a long floral dress or skirt. I’m digging the western vibes.
I’ve been searching for a knit Top and Skirt set and found this one on the site. It’s surprisingly soft , really warm and the skirt is nicely fitted with a small slit in the back. Cardigan Sweater $35 and Skirt $31
Cream ribbed Mock- neck $26 with my faux leather pants and leopard print flats.
Thank you for joining me on this haul today. Since the lockdown I’ve been doing most of my shopping online. H&M offers a lot of affordable clothing options and with their warehouse here in Canada there’s no customs to think about and their return shipping is FREE so anything that doesn’t work, you just put right back in the bag, attach the prepaid shipping slip they send and your refund is applied as soon as they get your items back. Simple.
Until next time.
Love,
Jennifer
